Epping Forest Heritage Trust
We are a charity and a membership organisation with a big mission to inspire people about Epping Forest, and to conserve and protect its irreplaceable biodiversity, culture and heritage now and for generations to come. We operate across the whole of Epping Forest, covering 6,000 acres stretching from Manor Park in East London to Epping in Essex.
Although Epping Forest is designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and a Special Area of Conservation (SAC) it still faces considerable threats from the impact of climate change and pollution on its biodiversity, to increased visitor numbers due to the pandemic, and encroaching development in neighbouring boroughs.
Our work:
- Educate and inspire people about Epping Forest
- Do hands-on work to conserve and grow the Forest
- Protect Epping Forest through research and advocacy
We also operate Epping Forest Visitor Centre at High Beach on behalf of the City of London Corporation.
